Tamara Doerhing's Simple Solutions: Ready-to-use Lessons for Relevant Research uses two models for a modern approach to research. One model uses blogs and the other uses magazine. Students are given weekly assignments to span over 12-14 weeks. This makes research part of an ongoing process and not simply for one assignment. Each lesson teaches a different research skill and genre. The blogs also teach one technology intergration skill for each lesson.
